This year will be the 4th time, and more and more visitors come to the event every year. This year’s event will take place on October 4, similarly to the previous ones, in the courtyard of the synagogue.
In addition to several types of cholent, we also welcome guests with flódni, who can taste these traditional Jewish dishes.
In addition to gastronomy, we also provide cultural programs for visitors. In addition to programs and concerts for adults, we also try to attract the younger generation, and we prepare a separate program for children every year.
The goal of the event is to bring the Jewish residents of our city and those of other religions, as well as the tourists visiting, closer to each other. We would like to introduce our community to everyone, show that we have universal values apart from religion, and introduce our historical heritage, including our traditions, customs, culture, and food. . All performances are free.

Discover the Jewish Heritage of Ettelbruck
Open Day – Sunday, 11 and 18 October 2026
The former synagogue of Ettelbruck opened its doors in 1870 and survived the Nazi occupation during the Second World War.
Since 2019, the non-profit organization Al Synagog Ettelbréck has been working to transform the building into a meeting place for cultural and educational activities.
The open day offers visitors the opportunity to discover this unique heritage site, learn more about the ongoing restoration project, and explore the history of Jewish life in Ettelbruck.
In addition to the visit of the former synagogue, the guided tour also highlights the town's former Jewish commercial life. The itinerary includes a walk through the pedestrian zone, where many Jewish businesses once flourished, and a visit to the Jewish cemetery, offering further insight into the community's rich history and legacy.
As part of this year’s European Days of Jewish Culture, which begin on September 6th under the theme “Love”, we are preparing two events at the Płońsk Memorial House:
1. A temporary panel exhibition (featuring 10 large-format roll-up banners) titled “Paula”. The project involves creating and presenting a biographical exhibition dedicated to Paula Ben-Gurion—a strong, independent woman who, as the wife of the Prime Minister of Israel, played a fundamental yet often overlooked role alongside the founder of the State of Israel. The exhibition will draw on unique archival materials (also from the collection of the National Library of Israel), including family photographs, personal correspondence between the couple, and fragments of texts from the international press of the era. The narrative will guide viewers through key stages of her life: from her youth in New York and work as a nurse, through the period of wartime separation, to her pioneering life in the Negev Desert.
The Municipality of Roskovec warmly invites the public to the official inauguration of "From Memory to Dialogue – Roskovec Embracing Jewish Heritage", an interactive public installation organized within the framework of the European Days of Jewish Culture.The installation transforms remembrance into dialogue by inviting citizens and visitors to reflect on Jewish heritage as an integral part of Europe's shared history. Participants will be encouraged to write and hang personal messages of peace, hope, respect, tolerance and solidarity on a symbolic Tree of Dialogue, creating a living artwork that grows through community participation.
The event will bring together local authorities, cultural institutions, schools, civil society organizations, representatives of the Roma community, other community groups, and citizens. Through opening remarks, the official unveiling of the installation and interactive activities, the initiative will promote intercultural dialogue, strengthen social cohesion, and celebrate the values of remembrance, diversity, and peaceful coexistence.
In July 2025, the Pomurje Museum Murska Sobota, under the direction of curator Samo Sankovič, carried out a small-scale rescue archaeological investigation in Murska Sobota prior to the construction of an extension to the Evangelical Centre. The research was commissioned by the Evangelical Humanitarian Organisation Podpornica. Among the finds, which mostly belonged to modern layers dating to the period after the Second World War, a partially preserved Jewish tombstone was discovered.
The event “His Path” (דרכו): Reading a Jewish Epitaph from Murska Sobota will present the reconstruction and interpretation of this partially preserved Hebrew epitaph. Through linguistic and palaeographic analysis, the damaged inscription makes it possible to identify key elements of the deceased person’s life, his role within the Jewish community, and the religious and cultural context in which the inscription was created.
Flavors of Love: Discovering Jewish Heritage Through the Autumn Holidays is a community cultural festival dedicated to exploring Jewish heritage through the traditions, foods, and values of the Jewish autumn holiday season.
Inspired by the 2026 CEJH theme LOVE, the festival highlights how food serves as a universal expression of care, hospitality, family connection, and cultural continuity. Through the celebration of Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah, participants will discover how Jewish traditions have been preserved and passed from generation to generation.
The festival will feature culinary workshops, traditional food tastings, interactive exhibitions, children’s activities, storytelling sessions, and cultural presentations introducing visitors to the symbolism of holiday foods and customs. Community members will share family recipes and personal stories, creating opportunities for dialogue between generations and people from different cultural backgrounds.
Professor Eva Kirchner (soprano) and Professor Julia Bartha (piano) will present works by composers of the late 19th and early 20th at this special recital. Both teach at the Institute of Music Education of the University of Music and Theatre ‘Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’ in Leipzig.
The programme spans a certain century of song and love history – from Vienna’s late romantic salon culture to Jewish expressionism in exile and oral late romanticism.
The selection illustrates how diverse composers of the 20th century used the genre of song as a mirror of inner and historical experiences: as a space for love and intimacy, memory, irony and survival. Apart from Roger Quilter (1877–1953), all composers are united by their family or cultural connection to the Jewish religious community.
Sărbătorirea Zilei Templului Israelit din Tulcea este un eveniment dedicat celebrării patrimoniului cultural și spiritual al comunității evreiești din Tulcea. Cu această ocazie, publicul este invitat la un concert de muzică clasică, operă și operetă, desfășurat într-un spațiu emblematic al memoriei și identității evreiești locale.
În spiritul temei „Love / Iubire” a ediției 2026 a Zilelor Europene ale Culturii Evreiești, concertul explorează puterea muzicii de a exprima iubirea în multiplele sale forme: iubirea dintre oameni, iubirea pentru tradiție și patrimoniu, iubirea pentru artă și frumusețe, precum și atașamentul față de comunitate și memorie. Prin intermediul unor lucrări consacrate din repertoriul clasic, publicul este invitat să reflecteze asupra modului în care iubirea poate construi punți între generații, culturi și credințe.
Evenimentul reprezintă totodată o oportunitate de a descoperi istoria Templului Israelit din Tulcea și de a celebra contribuția comunității evreiești la viața culturală a orașului, într-o atmosferă de respect, dialog și apropiere umană.
