The family is one of the oldest institutions, and family portraits were extremely important because they spoke of the spirit of the time in which they were created. Until the invention of photographs they were the only visual reminder of our loved ones.
Therefore, the workshops will be inspired by a painting from the collection of the Friedrich Museum of Fine Arts Johann Gottlieb Lieder (1780–1859), The Pejačević family in the Virovitica garden castle, 1811, oil on canvas, 285 x 398 cm, MLU, S-460.
Each of us has a family. It is made by people we love immensely. The family can be small or big. Join the workshops and paint your family! All participants can bring photos that they will be able to use in their work.

Hebrew is a Semitic language that around 200 AD ceased to be used regularly and became the language of Jewish liturgy among rabbis. At the end of the 19th century, it was revived and is currently spoken by more than five million people. It has its own alphabet and script, which you can discover in this introductory workshop taught by historian Ariadna Comas, head of the Synagogue of Puig Mercadal. The workshop costs €5.00 per person and includes materials.

👥 Zanurzymy się w nieodkryte biografie, odtwarzając losy nieznanych polskich Żydów. Na podstawie własnej wyobraźni i obserwacji zdjęć napiszemy ich historie. Historie napisane zestawimy następnie z historiami prawdziwymi naszych bohaterów, poznając ich rzeczywiste losy.

✂️ W drugiej części warsztatów opowiemy o tych postaciach w sposób wizualny, tworząc kolaże w oknach Błękitnego Wieżowca. Będziemy łączyć czarno-białe zdjęcia z intensywnymi kolorami i przeróżnymi kształtami. Stworzymy w ten sposób galerię historii prawdziwych.

💡 Warsztaty poprowadzą Helena Czernek i Aleksander Prugar, czyli założyciele marki MI POLIN, tworzącej design o tematyce żydowskiej.

„Graphic Novel“ Workshop in der Kleinen Synagoge
Im Rahmen der Sonderausstellung „Vom „Kalten Keller“ und falschen Versprechungen – Neue jiddische Funde aus dem Mittelalter“ wird in der Kleinen Synagoge ein Graphic Novel Workshop angeboten.
Eines der Exponate, ein jiddischer Brief aus Mühlhausen, enthält eine deutliche Warnung – Sex and Crime inklusive – und stellt die inhaltliche Grundlage für den Workshop da.
An vier Terminen (20.09., 27.09., 04.10. und 11.10.23) werden vom Grafikdesigner Ole Bechert die Methodik und der Gestaltungsprozess einer Graphic Novel vorgestellt und die Umsetzung angeleitet und begleitet.
